Why buddies

What makes a good match

Friendship built around shared experience, not medical advice.

  • Matched by real life

Teens are matched only with teens and adults only with adults, never across. Within your group we look at interests, diagnosis journey, and location.

  • Peer connection

Talk with someone living with T1D, share wins, rough days, school, sports, travel, and everything in between.

  • You stay in control

We check with both of you before any introduction, and only share your email with a match when you both say yes.

  • Less lonely days

Having even one person who understands can make managing Type 1 feel lighter and more human.

How it works

How a match happens

  1. Fill out the buddy form

Tell us who you are, how long you have lived with Type 1, and what you are into. No account needed.

  2. We look for a match

Someone from BoostT1D reads every request and looks for a person in your age group with things in common.

  3. We introduce you by email

We check with both of you first, then send one email from info@boostt1d.com that introduces you to each other.

  4. Keep the conversation going

After that, talk however works best for both of you.

Privacy comes first

We only share your email with a match after you both say yes. Buddy chats are peer support based on lived experience, not a substitute for your diabetes care team.

  • Teens with teens, adults with adults
  • Shared T1D experiences
  • Optional location matching
  • You say yes before any introduction
